Description
The Brüel & Kjær Vibron VIBROCONTROL 850 is a vibration monitoring device that provides reliable machine protection for a wide range of equipment. It continuously monitors the machine’s vibration levels and helps prevent, amongst other things, bearing damage, which is often caused by undetected machine imbalance or misalignment. The device provides the user with active protection, which limits machine damage and significantly reduces the need for maintenance.
The VIBROCONTROL 850 is a highly cost-effective option for simple machine protection. It is easy to integrate into an existing PLC or DCS system.
Why choose the VIBROCONTROL 850?
-
The device helps to avoid unplanned production downtime and unexpected machine repair costs.
-
The built-in delay time for warnings and hazard alarms prevents false alarms caused by momentary transients (spikes).
-
The built-in ‘latch’ function ensures that the alarm relay remains activated until it is acknowledged manually or via a remote connection, even if the vibration level has already returned to normal.
-
The device’s 4–20 mA output can also be used to verify the set alarm limits.
Features and operation
-
Includes an internal capacitive acceleration sensor.
-
Provides a 4–20 mA analogue output proportional to the vibration velocity (mm/s rms).
-
Two adjustable alarm limits (warning and danger) ensure that the machine’s vibration does not exceed acceptable levels.
-
The unit has dedicated relay outputs for warning (A1) and danger (D1).
-
The measurement range, alarm limits and delay times can be easily adjusted directly on the unit using 8 DIP switches, depending on the type and size of the machine being monitored.
-
Monitors seismic mechanical vibration in accordance with the DIN/ISO 10816-3 standard.
-
The compact device is housed in a durable, IP68-rated enclosure made of stainless steel (type 1.4305).
Most common applications
The device can be used in a wide range of industrial machinery, such as:
-
Blowers and fans
-
Pumps
-
Decanters and separators
-
Compressors
-
Mills
