SETPOINT® CMS (Condition Monitoring Software) is a comprehensive and user-friendly condition monitoring software package that provides advanced tools for monitoring the condition of rotating and reciprocating industrial machinery, analysis and diagnostics. The software provides a plant-wide view of equipment condition and enables rapid and reliable decision-making in predictive maintenance.

As the only condition monitoring software on the market, SETPOINT® integrates directly with an organisation’s AVEVA™ PI System™ information system. This eliminates the need for costly separate databases and enables vibration data to be viewed alongside all other process data.

  • Genuine AVEVA™ PI System™ integration: Vibration data is stored directly in the plant’s existing database. This saves on IT costs and combines process and vibration data into a single view.

  • Convenient .cms file format: Vibration data can be saved and shared in the user-friendly .cms format – in the same way as PDF files. Sharing data amongst experts and consultants is effortless and requires no additional software licences.

  • Direct connection to equipment history data: The software can read and analyse event data recorded by the machine protection system without the need for separate caching servers.

Key features and diagnostic tools

  • Comprehensive diagnostic graphs: Includes all the diagnostic tools and graphs required by a vibration specialist, such as time-domain signals (Timebase), frequency spectra (FFT), shaft orbits (Orbit), trends, Bode and Nyquist plots, and cepstrums.

  • Video-like playback: You can play back historical data as if it were a video, view how graphs change over time, and pause the playback at critical moments (such as machine start-ups, shut-downs or fault conditions).

  • Graph comparison and overlay: Enables data from different time periods, such as the start-up phase and normal operation, to be overlaid for quick comparison.

  • Intuitive timeline: An easy-to-use timeline slider makes it quick to search for specific times and fault conditions within historical data.

SETPOINT® CMS integrates seamlessly with Brüel & Kjær Vibro’s systems and equipment, such as:

  • VC-8000 machine protection system

  • VCM-3 condition monitoring unit

  • VIBROPORT 8000 portable measurement device

Applications: The software is designed for the monitoring of critical machinery in the process, oil, gas and energy industries. It is suitable, amongst other things, for the continuous diagnostics of turbines, compressors, large pumps and mills.
